Communication & Sales Support Specialist

Position Overview

As the Communications & Sales Support Specialist, you will assist our Sales department bidding on various jobs through a multitude of responsibilities which include: Generating timely and accurate price quotations, support field reps with answering technical product and customer service questions, review and release new orders into production, follow projects throughout the post order sales cycle and interact with customers to provide general product information.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares price quotations for material and/or freight by fax or e-mail on price book items in a timely fashion. Obtains costs, applies markup and determines price according to guidelines specified by territory manager. Maintains a file of quotes.
  • Answers inquiries from customers, reps concerning price, availability or application of products, technical product information, and commissions/overage.  Provides guidance and assistance to customers and sales reps in oral and written form.
  • Handles customer/sales rep complaints and problems with accounts and products, and tries to resolve them as quickly and efficiently as possible.  Includes record research, investigation, policy interpretation, and adjustment or correction.
  • Receives and answers telephone requests for shipping/delivery information from customers.  Achieves and maintains rapport with customers and endeavors to give them the best possible service.
  • Uses computer system to enter orders, retrieve customer information, stock information and the status of orders.  Ensures that correct codes are used in retrieving and inputting information.
  • Follows up on inquiries by checking Customer Order Log for order/tracking information.  Works closely with Production and Purchasing regarding deliveries of scheduled shipments.
  • Handles the needs of sales representatives and customers.
  • Works with customers to offer alternatives to unresolved problems.
  • Checks with Credit Department concerning credit status of customers.
  • Proactively follows up on leads assigned from a trade show, space ad or other promotional devices.

Qualifications

  • Excellent oral and written communication, interpersonal, organizational and mathematical skills; ability to read, analyze and interpret inquiries; write reports and business correspondence; creativity; a willingness to learn; and an interest in the construction industry are required.
  • College Degree preferred.
  • Background in sales, customer service, and architecture/construction is a plus.

Crater/Packer/Operator/Material Handler

Position Overview

Performs duties to prepare and pack parts for shipping, according to established practices, special instructions, or in compliance with particular requirements related to the shipping order. Read blueprints as necessary. Builds crates and boxes around items to be shipped. Operates saws, drills, and punches, forming equipment to fabricate material to specifications. Loads, unloads and moves materials within or near the plant, yard or work site by performing the following duties.

Responsibilities

The following duties are typical for this classification. However, any one position may not include all of the duties listed, nor do the examples cover all of the duties which may be performed.

Ensures that guards and safety devices are installed and operating properly.
Performs required equipment safety inspections.
Reports any discrepancies to Production Supervisor and/or Production Scheduler and shuts the equipment down if necessary.
Reads job orders to determine job requirements and most cost effective way to cut material using drops when available.
Pulls required material as necessary and visually inspect material for obvious defects.
Ensures proper material, size, profile, color has been supplied for the job.
Sets up and operates saw equipment to cut proper color and profile stock to the size and shape specified by job order, either straight or angular cut.
Positions fixtures and clamps to properly locate the direction of cut.
Uses other shop equipment as needed, such as the circular saw, hand drill or drill press, punch and dies press.
Performs safety checks and documentation as required.
Checks pieces with ruler and square, making adjustments to machine settings and fixtures to comply with specifications.
After receiving work assignments from the Lead Person or Production Supervisor, determines requirements from work order, drawings, and other instructions.
Reviews job requirements and checks completed work to ensure those manufactured products comply with requirements and meet quality standards.
Completes paperwork, computer data entry, and any other records required.
Stores cut material in proper place.
Checks quantity of lubricant in the reservoir, replenishes as needed, and adjusts the flow to prevent damage to parts being cut and jamming of saw teeth. Removes dull blades and replaces with sharp blades.
Checks airline pressure and operates equipment at established minimum.
Examines parts, visually, for any defects or damage and notifies Lead Person of issues prior to wrapping.
Cleans dust, grease, fingerprints, scratches, and blemishes off products with available cleaners.
Marks and verifies cartons for contents, job number, address and any other special marks.
Moves materials or products using material handling equipment such as hand truck and dolly.
Uses hand tools, knife, tape dispenser, hand stapler, weighing or measuring instruments, pneumatic staple guns, strapper, and other equipment as needed.
Builds crates and boxes around items of a wide range of sizes and shapes to be shipped, checking items against packing list.
Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves.
Identifies material by attaching tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales or other containers.
Loads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit.
Studies receiving or shipping notices, requests for movement of raw materials and finished products, and warehousing space available to develop a schedule for material handling activities.
Operates industrial truck or electric hoist to assist in loading or moving materials and product.
Assures quality of work through accuracy, neatness, paying attention to details, a thorough understanding of information, with a minimal amount of rework.
Conveys personal commitment to quality by demonstrating good quality behavior.
Identifies and acts upon opportunities to improve the quality of material or process.
Maintains work area, equipment, and supplies in neat and orderly condition. Disposes of scrap and chips according to instructions.
Uses judgment to minimize scrap by using drops from one job on other jobs.
Refers any problems or difficulties to Lead Person or Production Supervisor.
May be required to use personal fall protection equipment in certain situations.
Ensures conformance to all aspects of the ISO 14001 standard and Construction Specialties’
Environmental Management System (EMS), including its environmental policy while performing job functions that may have a significant impact on the environment.
Qualifications

High school graduate/GED required
Minimum of 12 months manufacturing/related experience.
Ability to operate saws, drills, staple guns, punches and hand tools.
Demonstrated ability to read and comprehend work orders, drawings and work instructions.
Able to continuously lift 25lbs and sometimes lift 100lbs.
Ability to organized and prioritize work to meet deadlines.

This position supports the Customer Care activities. Examines orders and floor plans to determine appropriate quantities necessary to fill orders. Recommends alternatives products as deemed necessary.

Position Overview

Creates works of design in alignment with Impact Specialties branding principles for print and digital collateral.  Works to support a Marketing Department with a diversity of business goals. The ability to conceptualize, quickly mockup, and execute on pixel perfect designs is key in this role.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and ensuring brand consistency across print, digital, and physical (in-person presence) mediums
  • Writing copy & taglines for articles, email, landing page, social media, brochures/flyers, leave behinds, company descriptions/profiles, etc.
  • Photo editing – Photoshop rendering of products into spaces, re-touching, knock-outs, product color changing, etc.
  • Presentation design with PowerPoint and Keynote (market-and product-specific, trade show, client events, sales presentations)
